Welcome! We are glad that you are here.
Hailing from sometimes sunny California, Catherine believes in the potential of unconditional love to unlock the brain’s pathways for healing and learning at a neurobiological level. She supports the idea that goodness resides in each person, no matter how deeply it may seem buried, and that the brain holds natural healing mechanisms, waiting to be accessed.
Catherine enjoys writing about creative problem solving strategies, breaking learning down into component parts, the neurobiology of our autonomic nervous system’s role in stress and healing, and about communication styles that promote compassion for self and others. She believes that total support of others does not have to equal total agreement, and that this theme is becoming increasingly important with the diversity of our beliefs and experiences.
With a background in education, psychology, and theater, Catherine strives to discuss information and opportunities for enhancing our communication, boundaries, and connections with others and our world. She is dedicated to the idea that everyone has the capacity to learn and grow, in their timing and when they are ready. She is a proponent of each person developing a network of healing around them, including community, information, friends, family or chosen family, mentors, and healthcare professionals.
In her down time, Catherine adores escape rooms, cats, animals, chocolate, and being immersed in the great outdoors. She loves non-competitive board games that require creative thinking and generate laughter, and she performs regularly in improvisational comedy.
